Apple Shares iPhone 15 Plus Ad Highlighting Device's Long Battery Life

Apple today shared a short iPhone 15 Plus ad on its YouTube channel that highlights the device's long-lasting battery life.

In the video, an electrical outlet becomes sentient and sings the song "Way Too Long" by rapper Doe Boy. The outlet is sad that the iPhone 15 Plus lasts so long between charges, resulting in the device being plugged in less often.

Apple's tech specs say the iPhone 15 Plus can provide up to 26 hours of offline video playback, and up to 100 hours of audio playback. Like the iPhone 14 Plus, the iPhone 15 Plus offers the longest advertised battery life of any iPhone ever.

Apple's video description:

Big screen. Big battery life. iPhone 15 Plus is here. Dynamic Island. New 48MP Main camera. 2x Telephoto. Next-generation portraits. Water resistant (IP68). USB-C. Durable color-infused glass. Aluminum design. You don't want to miss it.

The ad was also shared as a YouTube Short.

How old are you? 88% of teens prefer iPhone to Android. A big reason is because most (if not all) of their music/marketing/lifestyle speaks to a younger generation.
That seems consistent with terrible music choices. ;)

How is that terrible? While not my first genre of choice, this particular song has a great sound.

Very creative ad. Simple, love it.

Actually, a majority of teens are choosing an iPhone over an Android device because of the blue bubble. Apple's music/marketing/lifestyle has little to do with their choices.

https://www.androidheadlines.com/2023/11/teens-prefer-iphone-android-us-survey.html

The blue bubble versus green bubble debate is a real phenomenon, not a mere fantasy. While Android is the most popular mobile OS worldwide, iOS tops all charts in the U.S.

The reason why teens prefer an iPhone over Android could also be FaceTime and iMessage. American teens want to be part of the blue bubble ride on iMessage(s). Because when a non-iOS user joins a group chat consisting of iOS users, all those cool features of iMessage go away.

Apple has captured Gen Z in the US so thoroughly that younger consumers fear being socially ostracised for not having an iPhone, a trend that will allow the tech giant to gain market share across multiple product categories.

[ . . . ]

One oft-mentioned issue is that Android phones cannot send texts through Apple’s iMessage system, meaning that a single Android user participating in a group chat of iPhone owners turns the outbound messages of all users green, rather than blue.
